Devil In My Eye Maggie Mae While Katy and I were struggling in the competition ring, I got a call from a Dalmatian friend of mine who did Dalmatian rescue. She had gotten a call about a 12 week old puppy that was driving her owner nuts. Needless to say, that little puppy face sucked me in! Maggie put me through a TERRIBLE puppy hood. She chewed everything (even ate a sweater!), dug holes in the yard, and barked ALL the time. Maggie had such a high energy level; I knew I had to do something with her. I put her into basic obedience classes which she promptly failed - MISERABLY – 3 times!! So, while I was still training Katy (my previous dog) in obedience and agility, I started training Maggie. Maggie took to agility fantastically and surprised me by qualifying 4 out of 4 runs in her very first AKC agility trial. What fun to run TWO dogs in agility!! I was completely, utterly, shamelessly addicted to agility. Maggie has consistently qualified in almost every agility trial we have gone to and is currently competing at the highest levels of AKC, NADAC, and USDAA agility. I know she is growing older, and I'm constantly worried about her health. But you'd never know she was an older dog, just by her silly antics. I LOVE running with this dog and can only hope to do so for a few more years. Note: Click any picture below to see larger image
